I’ll keep this short so as not to ruin the surprise too much. OSF is getting a HUGE update, due for release in February 2008.

The basic details:

1. It’s a ground-up rewrite. Even the db schema is going to be completely different. Don’t worry, all your recipes, comments etc will still be there.

2. I’ll be addressing some of my gripes with the current site (which I love, but you can always improve), a few of those being scalability, and ease of finding content; the latter being a symptom of the former - as the amount of recipes grows and grows, we need better ways to browse through them all.

3. It is the first piece of the yongfook 2008 puzzle.

Here are a couple of screenshots. Hope you like what you see, because I’ve been playing with the new OSF on my local server for a week now and I frigging love it.
